As a Lead Engineering Manager (Salesforce), you will lead the engineering of Salesforce Education Cloud platforms that support critical school and educator workflows in the education domain — balancing technical excellence, team leadership, and delivery at national scale. You will provide engineering and people leadership for MOE’s Salesforce capabilities, ensuring solutions are secure, scalable, and sustainable — and that they meaningfully support educators in their daily work.

Key Responsibilities

Engineering Leadership & Team Development

Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Salesforce engineers across varying experience levels

Set clear technical standards and engineering expectations

Foster a collaborative, high-performing team culture focused on quality and learning

Salesforce Solution Architecture & Delivery

Own the end-to-end design and delivery of Salesforce solutions, including Education Cloud and Service Cloud

Translate complex business and user needs into scalable, maintainable technical designs

Ensure solutions are production-ready, secure, and resilient

Technical Quality, Risk & Governance

Make and review critical technical decisions, balancing delivery speed with long-term sustainability

Review architecture and code to ensure alignment with Salesforce and organisational best practices

Identify and mitigate technical risks, including performance, security, and integration concerns

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Agile Delivery

Partner closely with product managers, designers, and business stakeholders

Plan and deliver work iteratively using Agile methodologies

Communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences

Platform Optimisation & Continuous Improvement

Drive continuous improvement in Salesforce platform performance and reliability

Stay current with Salesforce capabilities and recommend improvements where relevant

Improve engineering processes, tooling, and ways of working over time

What We’re Looking For

Engineering Leadership & Judgement: Sets technical direction, maintains engineering standards, and makes sound trade-offs under real-world constraints

Technical Fluency: Strong understanding of modern web platforms, cloud technologies, and API ecosystems, with the ability to engage meaningfully in technical discussions

Agile & Iterative Mindset: Comfortable delivering in evolving environments with continuous validation and improvement

Cross-Functional Influence: Effectively collaborates with and rallies product, design, and business teams toward shared outcomes

Mentorship & Communication: Clearly explains technical decisions and invests in developing engineers and future leaders

Qualification Requirements

5–8 years of hands-on Salesforce development experience, including building and supporting production Salesforce systems

At least 2 years in a technical leadership or people-management role, leading Salesforce engineers Strong understanding of Salesforce architecture , including data modelling, security, and integrations Hands-on experience with Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), and Salesforce APIs Proven track record delivering large-scale, high-availability Salesforce solutions

Experience working in Agile software development environments

Preferred Salesforce Architect or Salesforce Technical Lead certification Experience with mission-critical or government-scale systems

Exposure to education or public sector domains
