About the role Alfanar Projects Egypt is seeking an experienced and motivated Purchase Engineer to join its Supply Chain team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the end-to-end procurement process for project materials, equipment, and services while ensuring cost efficiency, timely delivery, and compliance with company standards and project requirements.
- Manage assigned purchasing activities and procurement projects in alignment with departmental objectives.
- Prepare and issue requests for quotation (RFQs) based on project specifications and stakeholder requirements.
- Obtain, evaluate, and negotiate supplier quotations to achieve the best commercial and technical value.
- Prepare comparison sheets and recommendations for supplier selection and award.
- Create and process purchase orders (POs) while coordinating necessary approvals.
- Monitor procurement activities and maintain accurate status reports for purchase requests (PRs).
- Develop and maintain relationships with existing suppliers while identifying and evaluating new sources.
- Analyze market trends, pricing, lead times, and supplier capabilities to support procurement decisions.
- Coordinate with suppliers to secure acknowledgments, invoices, and required procurement documentation.
- Verify supplier information and maintain accurate records within SAP and procurement systems.
- Support commercial and logistics teams with LC requirements, shipping coordination, and customs-related matters.
- Ensure compliance with company procurement procedures, quality standards, and ethical sourcing practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.
- Minimum 2-5 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain.
- Experience in engineering, construction, EPC, or project-based environments is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of procurement processes, supplier management, and commercial negotiations.
- Strong communication, negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent organizational and stakeholder management abilities.
- Proficiency in English (written and spoken).
