Engineering Train Operator

Job Responsibilities Operate engineering trains and railway vehicles safely. Perform shunting duties and direct rail-vehicle movements. Conduct pre-operation inspections and report equipment defects. Follow instructions issued by the operations controller. Coordinate with train personnel, station supervisors and ground shunters. Comply with approved operational and safety procedures. Maintain train-movement, equipment and operational records. Respond to incidents and participate in recovery operations. Perform duties in tunnels, depots, tracks and other railway environments. Assist with OJT and other operational duties when assigned. Job Requirements Minimum NTC 2/3, GCE O-Level or equivalent qualification. Railway, vehicle-operation, shunting or construction experience is preferred. Able to read, write and communicate in English. Able to work rotating shifts, nights, weekends and public holidays. Able to perform overtime and respond during emergencies. Able to follow operational instructions accurately. Physically fit and comfortable working in railway and construction environments. Must pass the required training, competency assessments and OJT.
