Overview:

We are seeking a reliable and organized Part-Time Cook to prepare nutritious meals for participants in our residential addiction recovery program. This role is responsible for meal preparation, kitchen cleanliness, food safety, and helping create a welcoming and respectful environment around meals.

Duties:

• Prepare and cook meals for participants and staff as required.
• Follow planned menus, recipes, and portion guidelines.
• Prepare ingredients and assist with basic meal planning.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized kitchen.
• Follow proper food handling, sanitation, and food safety procedures.
• Monitor food inventory and notify management when supplies are needed.
• Store food properly and help reduce waste.
• Accommodate dietary needs when required.
• Work respectfully and professionally with participants and staff.
• Complete general kitchen cleaning and other related duties as needed.

Qualifications:

• Previous cooking, food preparation, or food service experience is preferred.
• Knowledge of safe food handling and kitchen sanitation.
• Ability to prepare balanced meals for groups.
• Reliable, organized, and able to work independently.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Food Safe/Food Handler certification is considered an asset.
• Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check may be required.
