Senior IT Operations Engineer
We are looking for an experienced Senior IT Operations Engineer to join our IT team and take a leading role in managing day-to-day IT operations and infrastructure activities. The role combines strong technical expertise with team leadership responsibilities. The successful candidate will help coordinate the team’s workload, provide technical guidance, resolve complex operational issues, and ensure the stability, performance, and security of IT services. The ideal candidate is a hands-on technical professional with strong leadership and communication skills, capable of taking ownership, supporting team members, and ensuring that IT operations are delivered efficiently and reliably. Key Responsibilities IT Operations & Service Management Ensure reliable day-to-day IT service delivery in line with business requirements and agreed SLAs.
Monitor IT operations and proactively identify and resolve technical issues.
Act as a senior escalation point for complex infrastructure and operational incidents.
Follow up on incidents and ensure timely resolution and proper documentation.
Team Leadership & Coordination Provide technical guidance and support to IT Operations team members.
Coordinate daily tasks and priorities within the team.
Follow up on assigned tasks and ensure timely completion.
Mentor junior and mid-level team members and support their technical development.
Encourage knowledge sharing and effective collaboration within the team.
Infrastructure Operations Manage and oversee IT infrastructure environments including: VMware virtualization
Microsoft Exchange
Windows/Linux environments
Network and security infrastructure
Ensure infrastructure availability, performance, scalability, and reliability.
Participate in infrastructure upgrades, implementations, and improvement projects.
Security & Compliance Ensure IT operations follow company security policies and best practices.
Work closely with security and infrastructure teams to identify and mitigate risks.
Support the implementation and maintenance of security controls.
Monitoring, Backup & Disaster Recovery Ensure effective monitoring of critical IT systems and services.
Monitor backup operations and follow up on backup failures or issues.
Support disaster recovery planning, testing, and business continuity activities.
Participate in regular infrastructure health checks and performance reviews.
Process & Continuous Improvement Follow and improve IT operational processes and workflows.
Support the implementation of ITIL-based practices, including Incident, Change, and Problem Management.
Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency, reliability, and service quality.
Maintain accurate technical documentation and operational procedures.
Reporting & Stakeholder Communication Provide regular updates on operational issues, infrastructure status, and ongoing activities.
Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders and other technical teams.
Escalate critical issues and risks to management when required.
5–8 years of experience in IT Operations, Infrastructure, or a related technical role.
Previous experience in a senior or team-leading technical position.
Experience providing technical guidance or coordinating the work of IT team members.
Technical Background Strong knowledge of VMware virtualization technologies.
Good experience with Microsoft Exchange.
Good understanding of Windows and Linux environments.
Good understanding of IT infrastructure and security concepts.
Experience with monitoring, backup, and disaster recovery solutions.
