About us

Paramount Matter Holdings is a Singapore-headquartered gold exploration and mining company with operations and entities across several countries. We are a lean team where each person owns their area and sees the impact of their work.

About the role

We are looking for a hands-on Accountant to run our day-to-day accounting, keep our records accurate and deliver timely management and statutory reporting.

Your first priority will be to bring the accounts up to date: reviewing historical balances, clearing outstanding reconciliation items and putting reliable month-end processes in place. You will work closely with the Head of Banking and Finance and our external accountants, auditors and tax advisers.

What you will do

Full-set accounting and reporting

  • Maintain the full set of accounts, including general ledger, payables, receivables and bank reconciliations.
  • Run month-end and year-end closing, including journals, accruals, prepayments and supporting schedules.
  • Prepare monthly management accounts: profit and loss, balance sheet and cash flow.
  • Review balance sheet accounts regularly, investigate unsupported balances and keep intercompany records reconciled.

Historical review and clean-up

  • Review past records to identify missing entries, discrepancies and open items.
  • Reconcile prior-year closing balances to current-year opening balances.
  • Propose correcting entries with supporting schedules for management review.
  • Work with external accountants to resolve outstanding matters and bring the books up to date.

Payments and cash management

  • Process supplier invoices, employee claims and payment requests, checking supporting documents and approvals before payments go to signatories.
  • Keep payment schedules up to date and follow up on overdue receivables and payables.
  • Monitor bank balances and prepare cash flow forecasts for funding and payment planning.
  • Handle transaction and documentation queries with banks, vendors and internal teams.

Statutory reporting, tax and audit

  • Prepare schedules for the annual financial statements and statutory filings.
  • Support corporate income tax filings and GST returns, working with external tax advisers.
  • Coordinate with auditors, tax advisers and the corporate secretary to meet reporting deadlines.
  • Keep financial records organised and maintain a compliance calendar.

Controls and process improvement

  • Make sure every transaction is properly documented, approved and recorded.
  • Prepare financial information for banking and compliance reviews.
  • Spot control gaps and recommend practical improvements to payments, reconciliations and month-end closing.
  • Support budgeting, financial analysis and other finance projects as needed.

What you will bring

  • A degree in Accounting or Finance, or a recognised professional accounting qualification.
  • 3–5 years of accounting experience, including handling a full set of accounts independently.
  • Working knowledge of Singapore accounting standards (SFRS), statutory reporting and tax requirements.
  • Hands-on experience with month-end closing, balance sheet reconciliations, management reporting and audit schedules.
  • Strong Excel skills and experience with accounting software. Xero experience is an advantage.
  • A sharp eye for detail and the persistence to trace discrepancies back to their source.
  • Good organisation, sound judgement on priorities and high standards of integrity and confidentiality.
  • Clear communication with management and external advisers.

It would be a plus if you have:

  • Cleared an accounting backlog or taken over accounts from an external provider.
  • Managed accounts for multiple entities, including intercompany transactions and multi-currency balances.
  • Worked in a small finance team with a high degree of ownership.
  • Improved accounting processes or financial controls.
