Your tasks
Kootenay Family Place is looking for a temporary Therapy Assistant to join our Early Intervention team. The position starts as soon as a qualified candidate can be found and ends March 31, 2027. The successful candidate will provide therapy activities delegated by the supervising therapist in group or individual sessions, to children from birth to five years old. Treatment will focus on play based interactions and activities to elicit target skills identified by the supervising therapist. This role involves working as part of a dynamic multidisciplinary team including Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy and Speech Language Pathology who are dedicated to proving the highest standard of family-centered care in a provincially funded Early Intervention therapy program. Wages are based on the BCGEU Collective Agreement.
Requirements
Education and Experience
- Diploma in Therapy Assistant/Rehabilitation Assistant.
- Valid class 5 driver?s license and access to a vehicle.
- One year of pediatric experience with children 0-5 in a therapy or childcare setting.
- Or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
