Senior Data Security Specialist

Accountabilities The Senior Data Security Specialist will lead the implementation and improvement of data security technologies, processes, and controls to ensure strong protection of organizational data. Key responsibilities include:

Implementing, enhancing, and providing ongoing support for data security technologies, including Data Loss Prevention (DLP) solutions.

Executing and continuously improving data security processes such as threat analysis, data monitoring, and access control reviews.

Reviewing existing security measures across different environments, identifying weaknesses, and implementing effective improvements.

Developing data classification processes and access control strategies for both structured and unstructured data.

Leveraging security insights to improve automation, operational efficiency, and data protection capabilities.

Collaborating with application security teams to establish effective processes for data orchestration, documentation, and training.

Creating and maintaining operating procedures, technical documentation, and runbooks for security operations.

Developing data analytics, dashboards, and KPI reporting to measure operational effectiveness and security control health.

Supporting identity and access management initiatives while ensuring secure data access across cloud and on-premise environments.

Acting as a technical resource for cybersecurity projects and contributing expertise to improve security operations.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate has extensive experience in data security, cybersecurity operations, and enterprise technology environments, with strong analytical and communication skills. Required qualifications and skills include:

Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.

8–10 years of relevant professional experience in data security or cybersecurity roles.

Experience implementing and managing data security technologies, including DLP solutions and data protection controls.

Experience using AI services or AI-driven solutions within data security environments.

Knowledge of threat analysis, identity and access management, data governance, and security monitoring practices.

Familiarity with both cloud and on-premise data security environments.

Relevant security certifications or equivalent proven professional experience are preferred.

Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify risks and maintain accuracy in complex security processes.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and the ability to collaborate with diverse teams.

Strong presentation skills with the ability to communicate technical concepts to different audiences.

Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and deliver results under pressure.

Strong organizational, problem-solving, and time-management skills.

Ability to maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive information.

Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build effective working relationships across teams.
