Your mission This position is based near Frankfurt, Germany. Candidates with EU work authorization or eligibility to work within the European Union are strongly preferred. The  Project Manager holds accountability for supervising daily operations of the Project Teams, ensuring comprehensive project management aligned with organizational objectives. This leadership role encompasses directing and motivating a team of Project Managers, Engineers, Commercial Teams, and Construction Managers to deliver projects meeting superior safety and quality benchmarks. Collaboration with the Group Commercial Lead and Commercial Managers is essential to formulate and execute project strategies that advance growth and profitability in accordance with business objectives. A fundamental aspect involves ensuring robust project delivery that strengthens business reputation through rigorous application of company’s governance frameworks and procedures. The position demands exceptional leadership capabilities, including team inspiration, talent development, and performance management. The Project Manager maintains strategic communication with Clients, suppliers, and stakeholders, ensuring comprehensive engagement throughout project lifecycles. Core Responsibilities Safety, Health & Environment (SHE) Management Complete ownership for incorporating SHE Plan requirements (development, implementation, and maintenance) Ensure workforce, operations, and supply chain adherence to JAB SHE standards, procedures, and regulatory requirements Address CDM obligations and advance Designing for Safety initiatives across all projects Establish safety-focused culture throughout managed projects Execute routine safety audits and inspections, identifying enhancement opportunities for practices and procedures Lead incident and near-miss investigations, developing preventive corrective measures Design and BIM Coordination Oversee design responsibility management during pre-construction phases through direct oversight or team delegation Verify project compliance with contractual specifications, drawings, designs, and applicable regulations Direct Value Engineering initiatives from conception through completion alongside Project Commercial Lead Ensure design documentation supports project schedule execution Secure approvals for all project elements through drawing approvals and technical submissions Lead monthly Design and BIM advancement meetings Information Coordination Maintain comprehensive accountability for project correspondence, including drawings, technical documentation, and approvals accuracy Establish clear information distribution protocols to external JAB stakeholders via approved document management systems Project Leadership Deliver projects conforming to JAB Operating Framework standards Serve as pre-construction leader when designated Create project strategies requiring Business Senior Leadership approval Develop comprehensive project plans with resource allocation and scheduling to meet program requirements Oversee quality management implementation (development, execution, and maintenance of quality plans) Implement off-site manufacturing strategies as needed Establish procurement and resource strategies Provide team leadership, ensuring member motivation and engagement Execute effective change management processes Establish and monitor project benchmarks and standards Commercial Operations Hold complete accountability for all commercial project elements Create and manage project budgets, ensuring completion within approved parameters Handle significant internal and external correspondence related to JAB contractual obligations Identify and manage project risks, implementing mitigation strategies Complete accurate financial forecasting through monthly CVR processes Optimize project cash flow to maintain positive positions Smart Landings Implementation Develop and execute project-specific SMART landings plans meeting contractual requirements Reporting and Communication Communicate project status to stakeholders including senior management, clients, and contractors Generate monthly contract review reports for business leadership presentation Produce Internal Progress Reports per Operating Framework requirements Create external Client progress reports as needed Document project status, progress, issues, and delays per contractual mechanisms Client Relations Attend all meetings specified in project Communications Plans Build and maintain positive stakeholder relationships with clients, contractors, and suppliers Business Development Participate in business development activities when required Act as Bid Leader ensuring deliverable completion per bid schedules Professional Growth Contribute to focus groups and steering committees Conduct peer reviews as assigned Manage team member performance through feedback, coaching, and issue resolution Maintain current industry knowledge through professional development participation Reporting Structure and Communication Reports directly to Director/Operations Director with interfaces across project teams and JAB enabling operations. Engages with clients and professional team members utilizing all communication methods per Project Communications Plans, typically including verbal and written formats through meetings and email correspondence. Financial Accountability Responsible for successful project delivery within established estimates. Accountable for operational and commercial management of subcontractors and suppliers throughout all project phases. Manages change orders and pricing to ensure cost recovery with formal change documentation. Records delays and manages financial recovery per contractual provisions. Team Leadership Typically supervises 6-10 direct reports depending on project scope. Responsible for team performance and development, conducting mid-year and annual Performance Development Reviews for all direct reports. Health, Safety, Environment & Quality (SHEQ) Accountability Maintains responsibility, in collaboration with project team members, for compliance with all Health, Safety, and Environmental policies and legislation.
