Talencia Consulting - Data Product Owner

Location: Belgium / Hybrid Start date: ASAP Duration: Long-term

Context: Our client is currently strengthening its Data organization and is looking for a Senior Data Product Owner to take ownership of the HR Data domain. You will join a multidisciplinary Data team of around 30-40 people, working across several business areas such as HR, Finance and Loyalty. The organization is progressively implementing a Data Mesh approach, offering an opportunity to play an active role in shaping the way Data Products are managed and delivered.

Description:

• Take end-to-end ownership of the HR Data Product, from business needs to delivery and continuous improvement
• Identify, challenge and translate business requirements into clear and actionable Data Product specifications
• Work closely with business stakeholders, key users, Data Engineers, Data Analysts and other technical teams
• Define and prioritize the Data Product roadmap according to business value and organizational priorities
• Contribute actively to the implementation and evolution of the Data Mesh strategy
• Ensure that Data Products follow appropriate Data Governance, quality and accessibility standards
• Act as a bridge between business and technical stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and alignment
• Promote a data-driven mindset and help business stakeholders make better use of available data
• Work in a cross-functional environment where processes and structures are still being established

Your profile:

• Several years of experience as a Senior Data Product Owner or in a similar senior Data Product role
• Strong practical understanding of Data Mesh concepts and principles
• Good knowledge of Cloud technologies, with GCP preferred; AWS or Azure are also considered
• Good understanding of SQL and BI tools such as MicroStrategy or similar solutions
• Solid knowledge of Data Governance and Data Management
• Previous professional experience within the HR/Data domain is required
• Experience in Retail or a comparable large-scale business environment is a strong advantage
• Strong combination of business understanding, functional analysis and technical Data skills
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work with both technical and non-technical audiences
• Flexible mindset and comfortable working in a changing and not yet fully structured environment
• Strong transversal and collaborative approach
• Fluent in French or Dutch and English
