The position

About the position

Herman Senior is looking for an experienced Second Engineer for our internationally operating fleet of Shoalbusters and Multicats.

You keep propulsion, auxiliary machinery, deck installations and other technical systems operating safely, reliably and efficiently.

Responsibilities

Tasks and responsibilities

• Ensure safe vessel operation and prevent pollution.
• Act in accordance with the QHSE management system and applicable legislation.
• Monitor engines, machinery, deck installations and other equipment.
• Perform preventive and routine maintenance.
• Assist with repairs to engines, power supply and technical installations.
• Keep technical spaces and stores orderly and clean.
• Maintain engine-room records, MX Suite, logbooks and technical files.
• Assist the deck crew when required.
• Report hazardous situations, accidents and non-conformities.

Your profile

Qualifications

• Valid Engineer Officer < 3000 kW certificate of competency in accordance with STCW Reg. III/1.
• All STCW certificates required for the position and a valid seafarer medical certificate.
