Account Officer
Responsibilities:
Invoicing & Receivables:
Prepare, verify, issue, and send accurate invoices to corporate and private clients on time Manage accounts receivable by recording payments, allocating receipts, and monitoring outstanding balances Follow up on overdue accounts, recover outstanding debts, and resolve billing disputes Prepare aged receivables reports and maintain accurate customer records
Cash, Bank & Reconciliation:
Record and reconcile daily cash and bank transactions, ensuring all receipts and inflows are accurately posted and allocated Perform daily, weekly, and monthly bank reconciliations and investigate/resolve discrepancies Maintain accurate financial records and safeguard the company’s asset register
Payments & Compliance:
Process supplier reimbursements, petty cash transactions, and other approved payments with proper supporting documentation Process statutory payments including VAT, PAYE, Annual Returns and pension contributions before regulatory deadlines Prepare periodic reports on collections, cash flow, and reconciliations
Documentation & Coordination:
Liaise with clients, banks, suppliers, and internal departments to ensure smooth financial operations Support month-end and year-end closing activities Maintain proper filing of accounting documents Perform any other finance and accounting duties assigned by management
Requirements:
Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required Minimum of 3 years of proven work experience as an Account Officer is required Proficient in accounting software/packages, Advanced MS Excel skills Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills ICAN certificate is an added advantage Detail-oriented, trustworthy, team player, and able to meet deadlines
Remuneration: NGN 200,000 – 250,000/month
