More about the role:

We are seeking an Account Director to join our Consumer & Brand Practice, leading integrated strategies and execution for a high-profile, fast-moving consumer brand portfolio. This role is ideal for a strategic, culturally attuned leader who thrives in a dynamic environment and can translate product innovation, music culture, and real-time trends into compelling communications strategies and creative, earned-first ideas.

You will work collaboratively across account, creative, influencer, social, and strategy teams—while serving as a senior client partner and internal leader driving excellence across multiple workstreams.

This role can be based in New York or Los Angeles.

What you'll do:

Lead Integrated Strategy & Execution

Lead development and execution of integrated communications strategies grounded in audience behavior, cultural insights, and platform dynamics

Overseeing complex, multi-channel programs that connect earned media, social, influencer, and cultural relevance

Lead the strategic planning, development and execution for high-profile events that feature top-tier talent and C-suite executives

Drive strategic direction across a high-volume, fast-paced product environment, including launches, brand storytelling, and cultural engagement

Build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor on communications strategy and execution

Develop creative ideas tied to product communications that generate high engagement and earned media and social coverage

Managing and mentor junior team members while contributing to team growth and capability building

Architect and deliver integrated campaigns spanning product communications, brand storytelling, and cultural engagement

Translate product innovation and brand positioning into compelling narratives for media, consumers, and cultural audiences

Ensure alignment across earned, social, influencer, and owned channels to maximize impact

Drive High-Volume Product Communications

Oversee communications for a high-frequency product launch environment (200+ launches annually)

Lead planning and execution across diverse product categories, including AI features, audiobooks, podcasts, and music discovery tools

Manage multiple concurrent initiatives with strong attention to timelines, prioritization, and quality

Champion Cultural Relevance & Real-Time Engagement

Identify and activate against real-time cultural moments, including music trends, artist milestones, and entertainment news

Guide teams in transforming cultural insights into timely, resonant storytelling

Ensure campaigns remain relevant within evolving digital and social ecosystems

Strengthen Brand Narrative & Positioning

Ensure consistency and clarity across all brand communications, including core offerings

Connect product launches to broader brand narratives and long-term storytelling

Lead Cross-Functional Collaboration

Partner seamlessly with creative, influencer, digital, and strategy teams to deliver integrated outputs

Drive alignment across internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure cohesive execution

Contribute to the development and evolution of the practice’s social and integrated strategy capabilities

Manage Relationships & Reputation

Build and maintain strong relationships with top-tier tech, lifestyle, music, entertainment and culture media as well as cultural influencers

Serve as a senior client contact, providing strategic counsel and proactive recommendations

Navigate complex stakeholder environments with confidence and clarity

Drive Measurement & Optimization

Oversee measurement frameworks across programs, including social KPIs, campaign performance, and audience engagement

Ensure consistent application of learning agendas and optimization strategies across accounts

Translate data and insights into actionable recommendations

Support Team & Practice Growth

Mentor and develop junior team members, fostering modern, hybrid skillsets

Contribute to hiring, team culture, and capability-building initiatives

Drive excellence in project management, workflows, and quality standards

Experience that contributes to success:

8–10 years of experience in integrated communications, with a strong focus on consumer, product, brand, or entertainment sectors

Demonstrated experience leading campaigns for large, culturally significant brands , ideally within an agency environment or in-house

Deep expertise in social strategy, digital ecosystems, and cultural trends , including platform dynamics and audience behavior

Proven ability to build and lead integrated campaigns across earned, social, influencer, and brand communications

Experience managing high-volume, fast-paced accounts , including complex product launch cycles

Experience in managing high profile events with top-tier talent and executives

Strong understanding of how to connect communications strategy to business and brand outcomes

Established media relationships and experience driving impactful press coverage

Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with strong attention to detail

Strong leadership, mentorship, and team management capabilities

Highly organized, proactive, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

The base salary for this position at the time of this posting may range between: $60,000 — $140,000 USD
