Responsibilities:

Install, connect and maintain water supply, drainage and plumbing systems within the company's facilities. Install and replace pipes, valves, fittings, pumps and other plumbing components. Install and connect plumbing fixtures including toilets, sinks, washbasins, showers, taps, water heaters and related fittings. Carry out plumbing works for new installations, renovations, extensions and facility improvement projects. Ensure all installations are properly aligned, securely fitted and free from leaks. Identify and repair leaking, damaged or defective pipes, valves, taps, toilets, drains and other plumbing fixtures. Detect and clear blocked drains, pipes and waste lines. Conduct routine inspections of plumbing systems to identify potential faults before they result in major breakdowns. Carry out preventive maintenance on plumbing systems and equipment according to the approved maintenance schedule. Replace worn-out or damaged plumbing components promptly to prevent operational disruption. Respond promptly to plumbing emergencies and breakdowns within the facility. Investigate plumbing faults and determine the root cause of leaks, blockages, low water pressure and other plumbing problems. Test plumbing systems to identify pressure issues, leaks and other defects. Use appropriate plumbing tools and equipment to diagnose and resolve faults. Recommend appropriate repair or replacement solutions where necessary. Escalate major or complex plumbing issues to the Maintenance Manager or relevant supervisor. Test newly installed and repaired plumbing systems to confirm proper operation and water pressure. Conduct pressure and leakage tests before commissioning plumbing installations. Ensure drainage systems flow properly and are free from blockages. Confirm that repaired fixtures and fittings are functioning correctly before closing out maintenance jobs. Read and interpret plumbing layouts, building plans, technical drawings and specifications. Determine appropriate pipe routes, connections and installation points based on approved drawings. Ensure plumbing installations conform to approved designs and specifications. Work with engineers, maintenance personnel and contractors where plumbing works form part of larger construction or maintenance activities. Identify the appropriate pipes, fittings, valves, tools and materials required for each plumbing job. Maintain plumbing tools and equipment in good working condition. Ensure proper and economical use of plumbing materials to minimise wastage. Report shortages, damaged tools or required replacement materials to the supervisor. Maintain proper custody of assigned tools and equipment. Perform all plumbing activities in accordance with the company's health, safety and environmental requirements. Use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when carrying out plumbing activities. Observe safe working practices when working with water systems, chemicals, tools, machinery and confined spaces. Ensure work areas are kept clean and safe during and after plumbing activities. Immediately report unsafe conditions, hazards, incidents or potential risks to the appropriate supervisor. Respond professionally to plumbing complaints and maintenance requests from employees, occupants or clients. Investigate reported plumbing issues and provide appropriate solutions within the required timeframe. Communicate clearly with users regarding the nature of plumbing faults and any required corrective action. Maintain good working relationships with other departments and facility users. Cost Estimation and Job Planning Assess plumbing jobs and identify the materials, labour and tools required. Prepare basic material requirements and cost estimates for plumbing repairs and installations where required. Provide recommendations on whether defective components should be repaired or replaced. Support procurement by providing accurate specifications for required plumbing materials. Record completed plumbing maintenance, repairs and installations. Maintain accurate records of plumbing faults, repairs, materials used and replacement components. Submit maintenance reports to the supervisor as required. Report recurring plumbing problems and recommend preventive measures. Maintain records of scheduled and completed preventive maintenance activities.

Requirements:

Minimum qualification of OND. 4 years of previous experience in a similar role.
