We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Platform Engineer / Team Lead to spearhead the design, implementation, and management of our enterprise-grade container platforms. In this hybrid technical and leadership role, you will be the core subject matter expert for our Red Hat OpenShift and Kubernetes environments. You will drive cloud-native transformation, automate deployment pipelines, and mentor a team of engineers to ensure the high availability, security, and scalability of our infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Leadership & Mentorship

  • Lead and mentor a team of platform and DevOps engineers, conducting code reviews and fostering technical growth.
  • Act as the primary escalation point for complex technical issues relating to cloud-native infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams , including software development, security, and product owners, to align platform capabilities with business goals.

Platform Architecture & Engineering

  • Design, build, and maintain production-ready Red Hat OpenShift clusters across hybrid and multi-cloud environments.
  • Drive GitOps practices and build robust CI/CD pipelines using tools like ArgoCD, Jenkins, or GitLab CI.
  • Implement automated monitoring, logging, and alerting frameworks utilizing Prometheus, Grafana, and ELK/EFK stacks.
  • Enforce strict security standards , including role-based access control (RBAC), network policies, and container image scanning.

Operations & Optimization

  • Ensure high availability (99.9% uptime) through proactive capacity planning, disaster recovery testing, and performance tuning.
  • Manage platform upgrades, patching, and migrations with minimal disruption to business services.
  • Optimize cloud infrastructure costs through efficient resource allocation and container bin-packing.

Job Requirements

Experience & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical discipline.
  • Minimum of 6–8 years of experience in systems engineering or infrastructure management.
  • At least 3 years of hands-on experience architectural design and administration of Red Hat OpenShift (v4.x) or upstream Kubernetes.
  • Proven experience leading small to mid-sized engineering teams or acting as a technical lead on major infrastructure projects.

Hard Skills & Technical Proficiencies

  • Container Orchestration : Deep operational knowledge of OpenShift Container Platform (OCP), OKD, or CoreOS.
  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC) : Proficiency in Terraform, Ansible, or OpenShift Operators to automate cluster provisioning.
  • Operating Systems & Networking : Strong expertise in Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL/RHCOS), TCP/IP networking, load balancers, and DNS.
  • Cloud Providers : Experience deploying container solutions on AWS, Azure, GCP, or on-premises VMware environments.

Soft Skills & Competencies

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a track record of resolving critical production incidents.
  • Excellent communication skills to explain complex technical architectures to non-technical business stakeholders.
  • A proactive mindset focused on continuous automation and reducing operational toil.

Preferred Certifications (Highly Advantaged)

  • Red Hat Certified Specialist in OpenShift Administration / Architecture
  • Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) or Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD)
  • AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud professional-level certifications
