Our client is an established and expanding construction contractor delivering projects across the Commercial, Industrial, Leisure and Education sectors. Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of secured work, they are looking to appoint a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their Manchester-based commercial team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Quantity Surveyor looking to progress within a business that consistently wins new work and offers exposure to a diverse range of projects valued up to £15 million.
The Role
Reporting directly to the Commercial Manager and Directors, you will manage the commercial aspects of multiple projects from pre-construction through to final account.
Initially, you will support projects in the Pre-Construction phase before taking ownership of a live project from January onwards.
You can expect to oversee 2-3 projects simultaneously, with schemes located predominantly across Manchester, Liverpool and Leeds, alongside occasional UK-wide projects for key clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing the commercial performance of construction projects from inception to completion
- Cost planning, procurement and subcontractor management
- Preparing and negotiating subcontract packages
- Valuations, variations and final accounts
- Monitoring project budgets and financial reporting
- Supporting pre-construction and tender activities
- Working closely with operational teams to maximise project profitability
- Building and maintaining strong client relationships
Project Portfolio
The business secures new projects on a regular basis and works across a variety of sectors including:
- Commercial
- Industrial
- Leisure
- Education
A major client is Center Parcs, with projects delivered nationwide and values reaching £5 million. The wider portfolio includes developments valued up to £15 million.
About You
- Experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry
- Strong commercial and contractual knowledge
- Proven track record delivering construction projects from pre-construction through to completion
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Full UK Driving Licence
