Responsibilities Perform routine maintenance, repair, and construction of railroad track.

Replace ties, rail, switches, turnouts, and grade crossings.

Assist with surfacing, lining, and aligning track.

Operate hand tools, hydraulic tools, and other track maintenance equipment.

Assist with loading, unloading, and transporting materials and equipment.

Perform inspections to identify track defects and maintenance needs.

Safely work around active railroad operations while following all company and railroad safety rules.

Assist with emergency repairs as needed.

Maintain a clean and organized work area.

Qualifications Previous experience performing railroad track maintenance or construction.

Experience with physically demanding outdoor work.

Knowledge of railroad track components and Maintenance of Way practices.

Experience operating track maintenance equipment such as tampers, regulators, spike pullers, tie inserters, or similar machinery is a plus.

Ability to safely use hand and power tools.

Ability to lift 75 pounds and perform bending, kneeling, climbing, and repetitive physical labor throughout the workday.

Willingness to work overtime, weekends, holidays, and respond to emergency call-outs as needed.

Valid driver's license required.

CDL is preferred but not required.

Preferred Experience FRA Part 213 knowledge.

Experience working on Class I, short line, industrial, or transit railroads.

Experience operating heavy equipment or Maintenance of Way machinery.

Welding or thermite welding experience is a plus.
