Our client, a reputable accountancy practice based in Southend-on-Sea, is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to support a varied portfolio of clients. This is an excellent opportunity to join a supportive team and play a key role in delivering high-quality bookkeeping services.
Your tasks
Key responsibilities will include
- Managing bookkeeping for a portfolio of clients across a range of industries
- Processing sales and purchase invoices, bank reconciliations, and journals
- Preparing and submitting VAT returns
- Maintaining accurate financial records
- Assisting with management accounts preparation
- Liaising with clients to resolve queries and provide ongoing support
- Working with cloud-based accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, and Sage
Requirements
To be considered for this role, you will have:
- Previous bookkeeping experience within an accountancy practice
- Strong working knowledge of Xero, Sage, QuickBooks, or similar accounting software
- Experience preparing and submitting VAT returns
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
- The ability to manage workload independently and meet deadlines
- Strong communication and client-facing skills
