Staff Marketing Technology Engineer

Accountabilities: As a Staff Marketing Technology Engineer, you will take ownership of the data, AI, and marketing technology ecosystem by designing scalable platforms, developing automation solutions, and ensuring engineering excellence across initiatives.

Own and enhance a cloud-based data platform, including BigQuery data warehouse architecture and dbt-based transformations, ensuring reliable and scalable data pipelines.

Design, develop, and deploy AI-powered applications and agents on Google Cloud to automate marketing and product workflows.

Build backend services, APIs, and lightweight user interfaces that enable teams to leverage automation and AI capabilities.

Develop ETL/ELT processes that integrate multiple data sources and support growing measurement and analytics needs.

Apply AI solutions to improve operational efficiency, including automating data engineering tasks and enabling self-service capabilities.

Establish and maintain engineering standards across AI-assisted development workflows, including version control, testing, code reviews, CI/CD, and deployment practices.

Ensure data security, governance, and compliance through proper access controls, secret management, privacy practices, and AI system safeguards.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements, improve data quality, troubleshoot issues, and deliver impactful solutions.

Provide technical leadership, architectural guidance, and subject matter expertise across data engineering, AI application development, and marketing technology initiatives.

Research emerging technologies, create proof-of-concepts, and develop reusable frameworks to improve innovation and efficiency.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate brings strong experience in data engineering, cloud technologies, software development, and AI application delivery, with the ability to operate strategically while remaining hands-on.

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.

5+ years of experience in data engineering, with additional experience in software engineering and AI application development.

Strong programming skills in Python and SQL, with experience building scalable ETL/ELT pipelines and integrating APIs.

Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform, particularly BigQuery, Cloud Run, Cloud Functions, or GKE.

Experience with dbt and modern data warehouse modeling concepts.

Proven experience building and deploying AI/LLM applications, agents, or automation solutions using technologies such as Vertex AI, Agent Builder, LangChain, or LangGraph.

Strong understanding of software engineering practices, including Git workflows, automated testing, code reviews, CI/CD pipelines, and production deployments.

Experience with Docker, infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform, and cloud-native development practices.

Knowledge of data security and governance principles, including IAM, least-privilege access, secret management, and handling sensitive information.

Ability to design reliable, secure, and scalable systems in complex technical environments.

Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with technical and business stakeholders.

Familiarity with marketing technology platforms, CRM systems, content management tools, email marketing solutions, or tracking platforms is a plus.

Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau is considered an advantage.
