Principal Software Development Engineer

Accountabilities: Serve as the technical authority for enterprise financial systems, billing platforms, and data solutions by defining architecture standards, engineering principles, and technology strategies.

Design and oversee scalable, secure, highly available, and resilient distributed systems across enterprise platforms.

Lead architecture reviews, provide technical guidance to engineering teams, and identify solutions to complex technical challenges.

Develop and optimize data ingestion pipelines, high-volume transaction processing systems, pricing engines, and enterprise data platforms.

Guide the development of cloud-native solutions using AWS services, serverless architectures, and modern engineering practices.

Drive platform modernization initiatives across applications, infrastructure, integrations, and data environments.

Champion the adoption of AI technologies, including large language models (LLMs), retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), agentic AI systems, and AI-assisted software development practices.

Partner with data science teams to implement machine learning and advanced analytics solutions that improve business outcomes.

Establish software engineering best practices across architecture, design patterns, testing, security, DevOps, and operational excellence.

Mentor engineers, conduct technical design reviews, and promote a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Improve engineering productivity through automation, low-code solutions, and platform tooling.

Lead incident response activities for critical production issues and drive root-cause analysis and resolution.

Collaborate with executives, business stakeholders, and engineering leaders to align technology investments with strategic objectives.

Translate complex technical concepts into business-focused recommendations and contribute to long-term technology planning.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical field.

10+ years of professional software engineering experience.

5+ years of experience providing technical leadership across multiple teams or large-scale technology platforms.

Expert-level experience with Python, C#, and .NET Core.

Deep expertise in software architecture, distributed systems design, and enterprise application development.

Strong experience designing and building cloud-native applications using AWS.

Advanced knowledge of PostgreSQL, Snowflake, SQL optimization, data modeling, and enterprise-scale data solutions.

Experience implementing event-driven architectures, microservices, and modern integration patterns.

Proven ability to lead large-scale modernization, transformation, or platform evolution initiatives.

Hands-on experience with AI technologies such as LLMs, RAG, agentic AI systems, or AI-powered enterprise solutions.

Strong communication, leadership, mentoring, and strategic problem-solving skills.

Experience with NetSuite and Salesforce integrations is preferred.

Familiarity with low-code platforms such as OutSystems is a plus.

Experience with financial systems, billing platforms, pricing engines, revenue management solutions, enterprise data lakes, analytics platforms, or data mesh architectures is preferred.
