Accountabilities: The Principal Contract Administrator will oversee contract management activities for complex projects, ensuring agreements align with business objectives, compliance standards, and organizational policies. This role requires strong negotiation skills, attention to detail, and the ability to provide leadership and guidance across contract-related initiatives.

Review client contracts to identify business, financial, legal, tax, and risk considerations while ensuring alignment with company policies.

Lead negotiations with government and commercial customers to establish favorable contractual terms and conditions.

Recommend contract language modifications and alternative clauses to protect business interests and reduce risk exposure.

Coordinate contract reviews with relevant stakeholders before submitting agreements for management approval.

Participate as a key member of negotiation teams alongside business development and project management professionals.

Monitor and administer prime contracts to ensure compliance with contractual obligations, milestones, and business requirements.

Advise leadership on contract scope, financial impacts, risk considerations, and potential issues requiring resolution.

Oversee significant contract administration activities across assigned business areas and support successful project execution.

Resolve complex contract challenges independently while following established project procedures and guidelines.

Provide mentorship, guidance, and support to junior contract administrators.

Perform additional contract administration responsibilities as needed to support business objectives.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate is an experienced contract professional with a strong background in managing complex agreements, negotiating commercial terms, and supporting large-scale projects. Candidates should demonstrate excellent communication skills, business judgment, and the ability to operate effectively in a leadership capacity.

Bachelor’s degree required.

10+ years of experience in prime contract administration.

Extensive knowledge of contract management principles, industry practices, and negotiation strategies.

Experience managing complex contracts across public sector, commercial, or large-scale project environments.

Strong understanding of contractual terms, compliance requirements, and risk mitigation practices.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail.

Ability to lead negotiations and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to influence stakeholders at multiple levels.

Experience providing guidance and direction to contract administration teams.

Proficiency with standard PC software and contract administration tools.

Ability to manage multiple priorities and perform effectively in a fast-paced environment.
