The Regional Operations Manager is responsible for the strategic oversight, implementation, and continuous improvement of school operations across regional schools. This role supports the creation, implementation, and auditing of processes and procedures that ensure compliance to school board, state, and federal guidelines while promoting effective online school systems. The Regional Operations Manager ensures that regional online schools have the tools and processes in place to support teachers, students, and families in the pursuit of an effective online education. This role may also serve as the primary Operations Manager for one or more schools, with direct responsibility for school-level operations. As the region grows, this role may supervise additional regional team members.

About the Opportunity

Support the design, documentation, and implementation of processes across key operational functions—with direct responsibility at the assigned school(s) and additional support to other schools in the region. Focus areas include:

Student records

Local and state testing

Attendance and truancy data collection and compliance actions

Office and facilities management

System and Platform training and support

School operations

Act as a resource for internal (staff) and external (students and families) stakeholders by providing management and resolution of escalated needs across a variety of areas, including, but not limited to, school procedures, technology systems, materials, course and teacher assignments, etc.

Serve as a liaison between school team members and members of the larger Accel team to identify operational needs and develop school level procedures that align with the goals and procedures of the larger Accel organization

Serve as a member of the leadership team at the assigned school(s), while also supporting school leadership at other regional schools as needed

Work closely with school and national State Reporting and IT Team members to ensure data validity in the Student Information System, Learning Management System, Business Integration Reporting Tools, and 3 rd party platforms

Collaborate with national, regional, and school team members to develop, document, and electronically archive operational procedures and workflows to support implementation of local school policies

Audit existing operational procedures and identify opportunities to streamline and improve current practices

Stay up to date on Department of Education and sponsor policies and compliance items and state educational laws for directly assigned school(s)

Serve as a resource to the region’s school level leaders to ensure the successful implementation of Department of Education rules and regulations, Sponsor policies and compliance items, and state educational laws regarding school operations

Assist to ensure that Accel is implementing the management of all confidential student information per state and federal laws

Coordinate communication with external vendors as needed

Compile, analyze, and provide data metrics and key findings as requested by national, regional, and school management

Perform all other job duties as assigned

Required Skills/Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Education, or related field or equivalent work experience

Expertise in Microsoft Office and Google Suite Products

Above average spreadsheet skills including the ability to use basic and intermediate formulas and functions

Prior experience working in a school setting preferred

Prior experience managing law and regulation compliance preferred

Prior experience creating and documenting procedures and workflows preferred

Ability to handle confidential information responsibly and exhibit sound judgment while maintaining that confidentiality

Demonstrates a reliable, dependable, and trustworthy work ethic

Ability to manage difficult or emotional client situations

Ability to make sound judgments after all available information has been gathered or communicated

Demonstrates a mature attitude and insight into matters affecting department, self and / or company welfare

Demonstrated leadership and management ability

Excellent written and oral communication skills
