Education:
Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. or equivalent experience.
Tasks:
- Operate and set up machines to perform repetitive machining operations.
- Verify dimensions of parts machined using precise measuring instruments (e.g., micrometers, calipers).
- Perform routine maintenance on equipment and machinery.
- Enter codes specifying speed, feed and cut of the toolpath for computer numerically controlled (CNC) machine tools.
- Clean and maintain work space.
- Direct quality control inspections.
- Read blueprints, written specifications and production drawings.
- Consult with production supervisor to schedule production runs in a cost and time-efficient manner.
- Set up machine tools such as lathes, milling machines and grinders.
Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses :
Machinist Trade Certification.

- Milling machines.
