ELECTRONICS MECHANIC LEADER

You will serve as a Electronics Mechanic Leader in the Production Resources Department, Electrical Shop of PORTSMOUTH NAVAL SHIPYARD.

Major duties

• You will be responsible for receiving, evaluating, and implementing work assignments received from the supervisor.
• You will assure the compliance of safety regulations and practices.
• You will receive correspondence, prepare reports, order materials, review test memos, and inspect work.
• You will recommend assignments of personnel to ensure skills training is optimized using current ships availability and schedule.

• Performing highly skilled and qualified work on equipment such as Sonar, Radio, Radar, Navigation, and Fire Control systems.
• Reading, utilizing, and working from complicated blueprints, diagrams, technical manuals, and electronic schematics.
• Ability to interpret form tables, job orders, and test memorandums.
• Assuring that necessary plans, material, and tools are available to accomplish the work.
• Ability to use large variety of tools and test equipment.
