This position is located at USAG Bavaria - MWR, Vilseck Recreation Center, Rose Barracks (Vilseck), Germany. Incentives and Bonuses Incentives will not be paid.

Major duties

  • Supervises a staff of 3-12 employees, assigns and reviews work assignments on a daily, weekly, or longer basis.
  • Plans work schedules, approves or disapproves leave, determines performance objectives and rates performance.
  • Must be able to support the activity by applying a practical knowledge of recreational activities and skills in the use of recreation materials and facilities.
  • Works in executing recreation events, programs and services to meet the recreational needs of a diverse patronage, including a variety of multi disciplinary events.

Qualifications

A qualified candidate must possess the following: 1. Must have knowledge of wide range of recreation and sports activities, organization and structure of military units and installation sports program objectives, policies, methods and procedures to plan, organize, and coordinate activities, assist, guide and motivate military staff in carrying out their responsibilities. 2. Must have basic understanding of budget and supply functions in order to prepare input and justification of funding for supplies and equipment. 3. Must have the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing (English). 4. Work experience or education directly related to the duties to be performed. In addition to the above qualifications, candidates who possess the following qualifications will be considered "Highly Preferred" or "Best Qualified": 1. 1 year Lead or Supervisory Experience 2. First hand knowledge of budgeting process to include financial performance reviewing 3. 1 year Recreation Programming Experience Applicant meeting the Best Qualifying Criteria/Highly Preferred will be referred to the hiring manager.
