Business Area Sandvik Machining Solutions is a market-leading manufacturer of tools and tooling systems for advanced industrial metal cutting. Products are manufactured in cemented carbide and other hard materials such as diamond, cubic boron nitride and special ceramics.

Our Project Management Office (PMO) at Sandvik Machining Solutions, is a department for continuous development. As our Industry is moving towards the future, we ensure our steady place in the frontline by enabling our business needs and providing best suitable support. We deliver effective project management expertise, and as we execute projects according to priorities, timelines and within budgets we ensure business development success. We are now looking for a Senior Project Manager, someone who is comfortable working with Production and IT-content and who is driven by working in a truly global setting and run business development projects.

This position is flexible between Sandviken and Gimo. Travels to both sites are required and some international travels are included in the job.

Your mission – Initiate, plan and execute successful business development projects As our Senior Project Manager, you have a broad role with a close relation to the business processes, as well as a strong IT-approach. You are often involved in the whole chain, from support of initiating projects and assignments, to closing and doing follow-ups, and through this you have an opportunity to influence your own work. As you take ownership of your projects, you’re fully responsible for the execution; including securing resources, detailing requirements, change management, progress reporting as well as analyzing and dealing with potential risks. To ensure projects are achieved in a proper way, on a timely manner and within budget you have a close collaboration with stakeholders, clear communication with project team, and when needed, you recommend project changes to the project steering function.

Furthermore, you contribute with your expertise as you mentor and coach other Project Managers. As a Senior Project Manager, you are also able to support our PMO as we continuously strive to develop our project models and methods.

Your character – A structured and effective Project Management professional We are looking for someone with a degree within a relevant area, or equal experience gained from work life. You have about ten years of experience of running projects – probably from a business similar to ours and often within Production and with IT content. You are skilled in in Office 365 and you’re used to working with cross cultural work groups. Since we operate in both global and local settings, you have excellent skills in English and Swedish, both verbally and written.

Your character fascinates us. Your independency enables you to run efficient projects, which together with your communication and change management skills makes you our ideal Project Manager. You have a way of grasping situations and business strategies from a holistic perspective, allowing you to both do risk analyses and furthermore coming up with successful and innovating solutions. You are structured and careful, yet effective – which inspires your team. And since you are a natural networker, who understand the importance of strong, long lasting relationships you gain trust and confidence from our stakeholders.
