About the Role:

An established technology services provider is seeking a Field Engineer to join its growing engineering team. This is a varied, customer-facing role responsible for installing, maintaining, and upgrading telecommunications and IT infrastructure across customer sites, data centres, and network environments.

The successful candidate will enjoy a mix of hands-on engineering, troubleshooting, and customer interaction, working with a wide range of networking and connectivity technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install and configure networking and telecommunications equipment, including routers, switches, modems, and associated infrastructure.
  • Deliver onsite and remote technical support to customers.
  • Carry out maintenance and fault-finding activities to restore services quickly and effectively.
  • Perform service migrations and technology upgrades.
  • Install and manage power, fibre, and structured cabling within rack environments.
  • Load and validate device configurations where required.
  • Record engineering activity accurately and maintain job documentation.
  • Ensure equipment is correctly packaged, labelled, and returned following project completion.
  • Deliver a high standard of customer service while managing time efficiently across multiple assignments.

About you:

  • Minimum of three years' experience within a Telecoms, Networking, IT Infrastructure, or Field Engineering environment.
  • Experience installing, supporting, or troubleshooting network and communications equipment.
  • Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
  • Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
  • Comfortable working independently and managing workload effectively.
  • PC literate with experience using remote access and support tools.

Desirable Skills

  • Experience with Cisco, Juniper, or similar networking technologies.
  • Router and switch configuration experience.
  • Knowledge of telecoms circuits, broadband, and connectivity services.
  • Structured cabling experience.
  • Experience working within data centres or rack-based environments.
