*Job description*
The Lift Operator is responsible to ensure the safe and efficient use of our lifts for our guests and employees in a courteous, professional manner. As well as perform various other outdoor duties.
Primary Responsibilities
Guest Safety
- Ensure that guests are safely loaded onto our lifts
- Be vigilant for identifying and preventing lift related incidents
- Know the Alpine Responsibility Code
Guest Service
- Ensure that all guests have a valid lift pass
- Know lift opening and closing times
- Ensure proper lift use by our guests and staff
Lift Operation
- Know and follow safe operating procedures
- Know and follow opening and closing procedures
- Understand lift function
Emergency Procedures
- Know and follow emergency operating procedures as per training and lift manual
- Carry out duties as required by supervisor/managers
Reporting
- Complete required Lift log documentation prior to opening of lift
- Ensure data is accurate and complete
- Document all stops and unusual occurrences
Equipment
- Know how to use tools properly
- Maintain lift huts and surrounding areas
- Use lift phones and radios appropriately
- Clean and maintain uniform regularly
Miscellaneous
- Ski racks, benches and tables
- Snow removal around lifts, buildings, decks and entrances
