IT Controller

Role purpose: Oversee IT financial planning, cost control, and performance reporting to ensure technology investments align with business goals and compliance requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Manage IT budgeting, forecasting, and month-end close activities; track spend vs. plan and explain variances.
• Develop and maintain IT cost models (run vs. change), chargeback/showback, and total cost of ownership analyses.
• Partner with IT and business leaders to evaluate business cases, ROI, and capitalization/expense decisions.
• Maintain financial controls for IT procurement, vendor management, contracts, and license optimization.
• Produce dashboards and KPIs for IT performance, project portfolio health, and service cost transparency.
• Support audits and compliance (e.g., SOX/ITGC where applicable) and improve financial governance processes.

Required skills and qualifications

• Finance & controlling: Budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, cost allocation, and management reporting.
• IT domain knowledge: Understanding of infrastructure, applications, cloud consumption, and project delivery costs.
• Analytics: Advanced Excel; experience with BI tools and ERP/financial systems for reporting and data reconciliation.
• Stakeholder management: Ability to translate financial insights into actionable recommendations for non-finance audiences.
• Governance: Familiarity with procurement controls, contract management, and audit readiness.
