Your tasks

The Role The Project Manager leads high-end custom renovation and construction projects from design handover to completion. You are the client's primary contact, the link between our in-house design team and our construction team, and responsible for scheduling trades and keeping projects on time, on budget and true to design intent. You report to the Renovation Manager and the VP Operations, and the Renovation Coordinator reports to you.

Planning and Pre-Construction

  • Review final design drawings and specifications before construction handover and give the design team construction feedback early.
  • Identify unresolved items in specifications and follow up with Design on permit submissions.
  • Procure trades and materials: obtain and review quotes, negotiate and finalize pricing with consultants and trades.
  • Review material take-offs, confirm selection orders and place special orders before job start.
  • Lead pre-construction meetings with the Renovation Manager, site team and clients.

Schedule, Budget and Reporting

  • Build each project's construction schedule and update it weekly, including 3-week lookahead schedules.
  • Review budgets and job costing reports; assist with reviewing invoices for approval.
  • Take part in weekly renovation team meetings and report job status.

Team Leadership

  • Direct the Renovation Coordinator and ensure materials are ordered on time and product delivery timelines are confirmed.

Project Delivery

  • Act as the client's main contact, with weekly client check-ins or meetings.
  • Schedule trades with good lead times and a complete scope of work; walk each trade through the project and confirm POs are issued.
  • Visit sites to verify specifications and schedule before each phase.
  • Work closely with building officials and engineers to resolve issues, maintain good relationships and keep projects moving.
  • Document all changes through the Change Order process before work proceeds, and advise clients of schedule impacts.
  • Prepare deficiency lists and manage closeout with the site team.
