Key responsibilities
Strategic leadership & management
Direction: Set the technical direction and strategy for the development team, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives.
Team oversight: Manage the full team lifecycle, including hiring, onboarding, setting performance goals, and conducting reviews.
Culture: Foster a positive, productive work environment that encourages collaboration and innovation.
Continuous improvement: Promote a culture of learning by identifying areas for optimization and introducing new technologies or processes.
Technical excellence & quality assurance
Architecture: Leverage a deep understanding of software development methodologies, architecture, and best practices to guide decision-making.
Quality control: Establish quality assurance processes, conduct code reviews, and implement testing strategies to ensure high reliability and quality standards.
Industry knowledge: Maintain a strong technical background and stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends.
Project management & collaboration
Execution: Oversee project planning, resourcing, and execution to ensure timelines are estimated accurately and resources are allocated effectively.
Cross-functional communication: Act as the bridge between development and other departments (product, marketing, operations), conveying technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Stakeholder management: Build strong relationships with diverse teams and communicate effectively across organizational boundaries.
Requirements
Education & experience
Education: A master’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
Total experience: Minimum of 15 years of professional experience.
Technical experience: 8+ years of experience designing and building scalable enterprise software.
Management experience: 7+ years of managing teams within a development organization.
Skills & languages
Core skills: Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills are required.
Agility: Ability to balance multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
Languages: Fluency in English and Arabic is a must.
