Major duties
- Directs a large-scale, highly complex logistics and physical distribution network overseeing the Warehousing, Retail, Major End Items, Customer Support, and Special Commodities branches;
- Cont'd from above: including Kitting, Classified, Hazardous Materials, and Foreign Military Sales).
- Oversees the distribution, preservation, and strategic storage of over 10,000 highly valued, critical Major End Items, managing the largest Class 7 inventory within the distribution network, alongside extensive Class 9 materials.
- Manages a major distribution program with an operating budget exceeding $150 million, making critical decisions on resource allocation, long-range planning, and organizational structuring.
- Directs a multi-layered workforce of General Schedule (GS) and Federal Wage System (FWS) employees in skilled, semiskilled trades, and labor occupations.
- Performs the full spectrum of personnel management, serving as a third-level supervisor with final authority over highly complex personnel management and administrative matters.
Qualifications
To qualify for a Supervisory Distribution Facilities Manager, your resume and supporting documentation must support: A. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position and is directly in or related to this position. To qualify at the GS-13 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military, or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes: Expert knowledge of specialized logistics programs, including Foreign Military Sales (FMS), Hazardous Materials (HAZMAT) handling, and management of over 10,000 Major End Items. Resolve most conflict that arises, interrogates and coordinates the work of others, and interprets policy on their own initiative. Expert knowledge of the Warehouse Management System (WMS) to analyze data, identify trends, and solve systematic problems. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. WORK ENVIROMENT Work is performed in an office and in warehouse environments. The warehouse environments involves exposure to moderate risks and discomforts. Protective clothing and gear are required in certain areas.
