Cloud DevOps Architect

Core One is seeking a Cloud DevOps Architect to lead the technical design, automation, and continuous delivery of a web-based tool built on AWS cloud services within the Sponsor's classified environment. You will own the DevOps pipeline from code to deployment, driving engineering excellence across the full software development lifecycle while ensuring all systems remain secure, compliant, and mission-ready.

Key Responsibilities

Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment workflows for a classified AWS cloud environment, ensuring rapid and reliable delivery of application updates and infrastructure changes

Define and enforce DevOps standards across the team including branching strategies, code review practices, automated testing suites, and release management processes

Architect and manage cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC), ensuring environments are reproducible, auditable, and compliant with Sponsor and federal requirements

Lead integration of APIs, databases, and microservices to ensure seamless interoperability and performance for mission users

Implement and maintain monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions using Splunk, Elasticsearch, and ServiceNow to provide full operational visibility and enable rapid incident response

Embed automated security and compliance checks within the pipeline to support continuous ATO, RMF adherence, and federal compliance frameworks

Partner with the IT PM, compliance officers, legal, and Sponsor stakeholders to translate mission requirements into automated, scalable technical solutions

Drive system reliability through proactive performance tuning, infrastructure optimization, and automation of routine operational tasks

Lead post-deployment operations including maintenance windows, patch management, feature enhancements, and incident response

Mentor team members on DevOps best practices and foster a culture of automation-first engineering

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree or higher in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field

3+ years of cumulative experience spanning IT systems administration, software development and integration, system testing, cybersecurity compliance, troubleshooting, and incident response

2+ years of experience in system administration of Sponsor Systems

6+ years of experience in application design, development, and deployment of classified IC systems of similar scope and complexity

4+ years of combined experience in Sponsor's Amazon Web Services environment (C2S or C2E) including cloud systems administration, containerization, cloud environment management, and compliance assessments

Experience with SecDevOps tools including CI/CD pipelines, code repositories, and testing suites

Experience providing troubleshooting support for IT systems within an IC environment

AWS certification or equivalent cloud technology certification

Experience with object-oriented programming languages, relational databases, NoSQL data solutions, software testing, and configuration management practices

Experience using AWS operational status tools and implementing IT operations situational awareness using monitoring and logs such as Splunk dashboards, Elasticsearch, and ServiceNow

TS/SCI with Polygraph

Desired Qualifications

Experience with Agile requirements management and sprint planning for technical IT development teams

Master's Degree in any of the above disciplines

Security+, CISSP, or equivalent certification

Salary Range: $200,000 - $275,000

The pay range reflected above is a general guideline for this position and labor category and is not a guarantee of a specific salary or offer. Final compensation is determined based on factors including, but not limited to, relevant experience, education, certifications, security clearance level, contract requirements, geographic location, and internal pay equity, and may reflect market data specific to the awarded contract.
