Lead Budget Analyst

About the Position: The Anniston Army Depot is located in Anniston, Alabama, in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountain chain halfway between Atlanta, Georgia, and Birmingham, Alabama, just off Interstate 20. The Depot is the largest employer in Calhoun County with approximately 4000 employees.

Major duties

• Performs audits of incoming and outgoing funding, ensuring audit readiness requirements are met by the team. Participates in briefing to the Commander.
• Provides technical assistance on matters concerning budgetary policy, law, and regulation for the Depot.
• Analyzes, monitors, and tracks: expenses, revenue, and net operating results to ensure sufficient and proper distribution and utilization of funds.
• Leads a team, which is responsible for planning, development, formulation, presentation, and execution of the operating budget for the Base Operations Mission.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes applying budgetary policies and regulations related to base operations for a working capital fund; participating in the development and execution of an operating budget; providing advice on the budget programming and funding process; participating in the development or execution of support agreements. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
