Role purpose

The videographer is responsible for capturing, editing, and producing high-quality video content for digital, broadcast, and social media platforms. The role ensures content is visually compelling, aligns with creative vision, and meets production standards.

Key responsibilities

Video production

Operate cameras, lighting, and audio equipment for video shoots

Capture high-quality video content for projects, events, and campaigns

Ensure footage meets technical and creative standards

Editing & post-production

Edit video content, including cutting, color grading, and sound mixing

Add graphics, titles, and effects as required

Ensure final video output aligns with creative vision and brand guidelines

Content collaboration

Work closely with producers, content creators, and creative teams

Contribute ideas for storytelling, shot composition, and visual style

Align video content with project objectives and audience needs

Equipment & technical management

Maintain cameras, lenses, and other production equipment

Troubleshoot technical issues during shoots and post-production

Ensure all equipment is properly stored and ready for use

Innovation & trend awareness

Stay updated on video production trends, tools, and techniques

Experiment with new filming and editing techniques to enhance content quality

Suggest improvements to video production workflows

Key performance indicators (KPIs)

Quality, creativity, and timeliness of video output

Alignment of videos with project objectives and brand guidelines

Audience engagement and feedback

Efficient use and maintenance of equipment

Contribution to innovative production techniques

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in film, media, communications, or related field

2–5 years of experience in videography or video production

Strong portfolio of video work demonstrating technical and creative skills

Experience with video editing software (Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro, etc.)
