Interim Compliance Officer - Education & Apprenticeships (Black Country)

Location: Black Country Contract: Interim (permanent applications also welcomed) Day Rate: £ 300 - £325 per day, inside IR35 (open to discussion) Sector: e ducation / Apprenticeships and Training

We're working with a well established educational organisation in the Black Country, delivering apprenticeship and training programmes, who are looking for an experienced Compliance Officer to join them on an interim basis. This is a hands on role supporting the organisation to deliver against an action plan following a recent audit, with a further internal audit scheduled for November.

About the Role

  • Support the organisation in strengthening compliance processes and systems, particularly around apprenticeship standards and training programmes.
  • Work closely with external assessors to ensure requirements are met and improvements are properly embedded.
  • Implement the post audit action plan with precision and attention to detail, ahead of the internal audit in November.
  • Carry out performance checks against funding rules, and help clear the existing compliance backlog.
  • Maintain accurate data and documentation across both the online portal and paper based systems.
  • Provide clear, well organised documentation to evidence compliance for future inspections and audits.
  • Contribute to embedding stronger audit systems for the longer term (some systems already exist, so experience improving on an existing framework is helpful).

What We're Looking For

  • Strong background in compliance and audit, ideally within education, training or apprenticeship standards; candidates with an accounting or auditing background will also be considered.
  • Assessor qualification desirable but not essential.
  • Comfortable working across both paper based and online portal systems.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and confident handling data.
  • Educated to GCSE level as a minimum; a broader education sector background is a plus.
  • Detail orientated and methodical, able to work independently and see tasks through to completion.
  • Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain; checks will be made).

Why Apply

  • Competitive day rate of £300 - £325 per day
  • Hybrid working, with arrangements around site based and home working open to discussion given the online portal reduces the need for constant on site presence.
  • Flexible start and finish times, open to discussion with the right candidate.
  • A focused 2-3 month assignment with real scope to make a visible impact ahead of the November internal audit; permanent applications will also be considered for the right person. Temp to Perm also available
  • Interviews held via Microsoft Teams.

If you have the compliance and audit background this role calls for and are looking for your next interim assignment, or a permanent move, we'd love to hear from you. Apply now or get in touch for a confidential conversation. Trinity House Group |
