Right Now Group are recruiting for an experienced Import Coordinator to join a busy Air Freight operation based in the Heathrow area.

This is a hands-on operational role working a 4 on 4 off day shift , managing Air Import shipments from arrival through to final delivery.

You'll work closely with overseas agents, airlines, handling agents, customs, transport and warehouse teams to ensure freight moves efficiently through the import process. We're looking for someone with strong Air Import experience who is comfortable taking ownership of shipments, managing a busy workload and resolving operational issues as they arise.

Key Responsibilities of an Import Coordinator

  • Manage Air Import shipments from origin through to final delivery
  • Process and monitor import pre-alerts from overseas agents
  • Monitor flight arrivals and ensure incoming shipments are actioned promptly
  • Obtain and review documentation required for customs clearance
  • Complete and support import customs entries
  • Ensure compliance with ETSF procedures and HMRC / Border Force requirements
  • Monitor shipment discrepancies, amendments and operational issues
  • Liaise with airlines, handling agents and overseas partners
  • Coordinate with Transport and Warehouse teams to arrange collections and deliveries
  • Monitor customs clearance and resolve issues that could delay freight
  • Carry out warehouse and bond checks where required
  • Work closely with Transport, Warehouse and Customer Service departments
  • Support audits of ETSF paperwork and customs documentation
  • Follow customer-specific SOPs and internal operational procedures
  • Identify potential service failures and take action before issues escalate

Skills & Experience Required for an Import Coordinator

  • Ideally 3+ years' experience within Air Freight Imports
  • Strong understanding of Air Import operations from start to finish
  • Confident handling import customs processes and entries
  • Knowledge of ETSF procedures
  • Good understanding of HMRC and Border Force requirements
  • Experience working with bonded freight would be advantageous
  • Knowledge of the Heathrow airfreight environment would be beneficial
  • Comfortable working independently and taking ownership of shipments
  • Ability to prioritise within a busy and time-critical freight environment
  • Confident using Microsoft Office and freight forwarding systems

Salary & Benefits for an Import Coordinator

  • Salary between £35,000 - £40,000 depending on experience
  • 4 on 4 off day shift
  • Working hours of 07:00 - 19:00
  • Hayes / London Heathrow location
