Drama Teacher (Maternity Cover) | January 2027 Start

Bexley | Full-Time | One-Year Contract

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a talented and enthusiastic Drama Teacher to join a highly regarded secondary school in the Bexley area from January 2027 . This full-time maternity cover position is expected to run for the entire academic year and would suit a teacher who is passionate about delivering high-quality Drama lessons and fostering creativity, confidence, and self-expression in young people.

The successful candidate will join a supportive school community with a strong commitment to student achievement and a genuine appreciation for the value of the performing arts within the curriculum.

Key Responsibilities

  • Teach Drama across Key Stages 3 and 4
  • Plan and deliver engaging, creative, and inclusive lessons
  • Assess, monitor, and support student progress
  • Contribute to the wider life of the department, including performances and extracurricular activities
  • Maintain high expectations for behaviour, engagement, and achievement

The Successful Candidate Will:

  • Hold QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification
  • Have experience teaching Drama within a secondary school setting
  • Be an inspiring classroom practitioner with excellent communication skills
  • Demonstrate strong classroom management and organisational abilities
  • Be committed to helping students achieve their full potential
