About the Role:

Our client, a growing software business based in Colchester, is looking for a mid-level .NET Developer to join their expanding engineering team. You'll work on the design, development and maintenance of web applications and internal systems, collaborating closely with product, QA and DevOps to deliver reliable, well-tested software.

This is a great opportunity for a developer with solid commercial .NET experience who wants to take on more ownership, contribute to architectural decisions, and grow within a supportive team environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, build and maintain applications using C# and .NET Core / .NET Framework
  • Work with SQL Server and Entity Framework to design and optimise data access layers
  • Develop and consume RESTful APIs
  • Collaborate with front-end developers, QA and product teams throughout the development lifecycle
  • Participate in code reviews, pair programming and technical planning sessions
  • Write unit and integration tests to ensure code quality and reliability
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues across the application stack
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of development practices and coding standards

Key Skills & Experience:

  • 3+ years' commercial experience with C# and .NET Core / .NET Framework
  • Strong knowledge of SQL Server and Entity Framework
  • Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs
  • Familiarity with Git and standard CI/CD practices
  • Understanding of object-oriented design principles and design patterns
  • Experience with a front-end framework (Angular, React or similar) - desirable
  • Exposure to Azure or AWS cloud services - desirable
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Good communication skills and ability to work well within a team
