Molecular Diagnostic Manager, Reagent Manufacturing

Microhaem — the first 4th-generation IVD manufacturing plant in Africa — is looking for an experienced Molecular Diagnostic Manager to own the end-to-end manufacturing of molecular diagnostic reagents. This is a leadership role for someone who combines strong technical depth in molecular reagent production with proven experience scaling processes from pilot to commercial batches under GMP/ISO 13485 quality systems, delivering products that compete globally.

Tasks

Oversee the development and production of molecular diagnostic reagents, ensuring adherence to quality standards and regulatory requirements.

Lead a team of scientists and technicians in the research and innovation of new reagent formulations to enhance diagnostic accuracy and efficiency.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align manufacturing processes with the latest technological advancements and industry best practices.

Implement and monitor quality control measures throughout the manufacturing process to ensure product consistency and reliability.

Prepare and manage budgets, forecasts, and resource allocation to optimize reagent manufacturing operations and meet organizational goals.

Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's in Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, or related field5+ years hands-on experience in molecular diagnostic production within a GMP/ISO 13485-compliant environment3+ years leading molecular reagent production teamsProven track record scaling up molecular diagnostic reagent manufacturing under GMP/ISO 13485At least 4 of your 5+ years in a GMP/ISO 13485-compliant manufacturing leadership capacity
