Accountabilities: The Senior Consultant, Data Governance will support clients in designing and implementing practical data governance programs that improve data quality, ownership, and accessibility. This role requires a balance of strategic thinking, technical execution, and stakeholder engagement to help organizations establish long-term governance capabilities.

Support the development of customized data governance strategies, including operating models, governance structures, decision rights, and accountability frameworks.

Design and implement data governance policies, standards, controls, and processes aligned with business objectives.

Help clients establish effective data stewardship practices and embed governance into daily operations.

Facilitate collaboration between business leaders, data teams, engineers, analysts, and other stakeholders to drive alignment.

Lead governance working groups, workshops, and training sessions to improve adoption and engagement.

Translate complex governance concepts into clear business language through presentations, documentation, enablement materials, and adoption guides.

Execute metadata management activities, including data cataloging, lineage capture, glossary development, and stewardship workflows.

Partner with business teams to define business rules, data definitions, ownership models, and data quality expectations.

Apply data quality practices such as profiling, monitoring, validation, and issue management to improve trust in enterprise data.

Support the implementation, configuration, and adoption of data governance and metadata management platforms such as Collibra, Alation, Atlan, or Microsoft Purview.

Configure governance tools by building catalogs, ingesting technical metadata, establishing lineage, and optimizing user experiences.

Define governance workflows, dashboards, personas, and platform capabilities for data owners, stewards, analysts, and engineers.

Provide guidance on data access controls, privacy considerations, and regulatory requirements including GDPR and CCPA.

Collaborate with technical teams to integrate governance practices into data platforms, pipelines, analytics environments, and operational processes.

Coach client teams on sustainable governance approaches that encourage long-term ownership and accountability.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate is an experienced data governance professional with strong consulting capabilities and the ability to connect technical solutions with business needs. This role requires expertise in governance frameworks, metadata management, data quality, and stakeholder enablement.

Experience designing and implementing enterprise data governance programs in consulting or enterprise environments.

Strong understanding of data governance principles, operating models, stewardship frameworks, and governance best practices.

Hands-on experience with metadata management, data catalogs, lineage, business glossaries, and governance workflows.

Experience working with data governance platforms such as Collibra, Alation, Atlan, Microsoft Purview, or similar tools.

Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Strong facilitation skills with experience leading workshops, working groups, and stakeholder discussions.

Experience defining data quality rules, controls, monitoring processes, and issue resolution workflows.

Understanding of data privacy, security, and compliance requirements such as GDPR and CCPA.

Ability to collaborate effectively with data engineers, analysts, architects, business owners, and executive stakeholders.

Strong problem-solving skills with a practical, solutions-oriented mindset.

Experience supporting organizational change, training, and governance adoption initiatives.

Comfortable working in a client-facing consulting environment with multiple priorities and evolving requirements.
