Accountabilities: The Manager, Salesforce Data Engineering will lead a team of Salesforce engineers while owning key data engineering initiatives, including Salesforce integrations, migrations, automation, and platform improvements. This role requires strong technical leadership, strategic thinking, and the ability to deliver secure, scalable solutions across enterprise systems.

Lead Salesforce data engineering initiatives, ensuring reliable, secure, and scalable solutions across connected enterprise platforms.

Own Salesforce-to-Salesforce integration projects, ensuring consistent and efficient data synchronization between systems.

Manage Salesforce migration efforts from planning through execution, ensuring data integrity and minimal operational disruption.

Translate business requirements into technical strategies covering data modeling, integrations, transformations, automation, and support processes.

Lead, mentor, and develop a team of engineers through hiring, onboarding, performance management, and career development.

Collaborate with product teams, business stakeholders, engineering, QA, data warehouse, and data quality teams to deliver successful outcomes.

Drive adoption of AI-powered engineering tools and agentic AI approaches to improve workflows, automation, delivery speed, and data quality.

Improve platform health by reducing technical debt, strengthening data controls, and enhancing system observability.

Provide technical guidance through architecture reviews, code reviews, troubleshooting, and knowledge sharing.

Maintain documentation covering data models, system dependencies, workflows, operational procedures, and technical standards.

Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performing engineering culture.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate is an experienced Salesforce and data engineering leader with strong technical expertise, proven people management skills, and a passion for applying innovative technologies to solve complex engineering challenges.

8+ years of experience in software engineering or data engineering, including 4+ years developing on the Salesforce platform.

2+ years of experience managing engineering teams, including hiring, coaching, performance management, and employee development.

Proven experience designing and supporting Salesforce integrations, migrations, transformations, reconciliations, and enterprise data workflows.

Strong hands-on Salesforce development experience with Apex, Lightning Components, Flow, and related platform technologies.

Deep knowledge of Salesforce data modeling, SQL, SOQL, CPQ architectures, security, automation, platform design patterns, and data lifecycle management.

Experience with enterprise ETL or data movement tools such as dbAmp or similar technologies.

Demonstrated experience applying AI technologies in engineering workflows, including AI agents, LLM-powered automation, or AI/ML tooling beyond basic chatbot usage.

Strong problem-solving abilities, including debugging, root cause analysis, performance optimization, and incident resolution.

Ability to communicate effectively with technical teams and senior business stakeholders.

Salesforce certifications such as Salesforce Administrator, Platform App Builder, or Salesforce Platform Developer are preferred.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Data Engineering, or a related field is preferred, or equivalent practical experience.

Experience applying AI or agentic tooling through professional projects, case studies, or technical implementations is highly valued.

Competitive total target compensation based on location:

Zone 1 (San Francisco Bay Area, New York City Boroughs): $192,500 - $357,500 USD annually.

Zone 2 (Washington, California excluding San Francisco Bay Area): $176,500 - $327,800 USD annually.

Zone 3 (Selected U.S. metropolitan and regional locations): $160,500 - $298,000 USD annually.

Zone 4 (All other U.S. locations): $139,600 - $259,300 USD annually.
