The Managing Director is one of the most senior operational and commercial leaders at Indie Campers. As the owner of a whole continent, the MD drives profitability, operational excellence, revenue growth, customer experience, strategic expansion, and organisational effectiveness - ensuring our global ambitions are executed at scale.

Role Overview

The Managing Director is responsible for:

Delivery of full continental P&L performance

Leadership and development of multiple District Managers and regional leaders

Responsible for financial and operational performance of 3 business units with his geographical scope: Rental, RV Sales and Servicing

Responsible for driving growth and sales performance within each business unit

Responsible for implementation of operational systems according to global guidelines that drive operational performance and result in fleet readiness, customer satisfaction and operational efficiency according to targets

Execution of global strategic initiatives and expansion into new markets

This role requires strategic leadership, operational mastery, and the ability to create high-performing regional teams while managing scale and complexity across multiple countries.

Key Responsibilities

Continental Leadership & Organisational Strength

Lead a multi-country business unit with full autonomy and accountability

Build a strong continental leadership layer rooted in ownership, discipline, and excellence

Responsible for creating a strong layer of District Managers that operate as true business owners of their geographical scopes

Implement the organizational rhythms, layer and culture into the region

Foster collaboration and knowledge-sharing across regions

Full P&L Ownership & Financial Performance

Own revenue, gross margin, COS, EBIT and cash performance across the continent

Lead budget cycles, forecasting, performance reviews and financial decision-making

Drive cost efficiency, productivity, and margin expansion across all business lines.

Monitor and influence demand, pricing, and asset monetisation opportunities.

Operational Excellence & Fleet Optimisation

Define and enforce operational standards consistent with global excellence frameworks.

Ensure fleet availability, turnaround discipline, and servicing performance.

Influence strategic fleet rotation, stock positioning, capacity planning, and infrastructure.

Oversee contingency plans, transformation programs, and operational modernisation

Commercial & RV Sales Strategy

Drive performance in RV Sales, ensuring pricing execution, profitability, and inventory health

Guide commercial execution in collaboration with Revenue, Marketing, and Sales leadership

Ensure balanced focus between operational quality and revenue growth

Geographic Expansion & Strategic Execution

Own execution of expansion plans, including new depot launches and restructures

Oversee in-fleet operations for seasonal ramps across the continent

Introduce new products, capabilities, and operational innovations at scale

Customer Experience & Brand Reputation

Guarantee best-in-class customer outcomes, leveraging data and Voice-of-Customer insights.

Reduce dissatisfaction drivers and elevate experience across all touchpoints.

People Leadership, Culture & Workforce Planning

Build high-performing leadership teams - talent acquisition, coaching, succession.

Ensure performance rigour, leadership development, and cultural alignment

Collaborate closely with People Business Partners to ensure staffing readiness

Governance, Compliance & Risk Management

Guarantee legal, safety, and brand-compliance standards across all markets

Manage operational risks, crisis response, and business continuity plans

Cross-Functional Influence

Act as the primary continental counterpart for COO, Finance, Asset, Revenue, Product, People, Support, and Servicing

Shape global strategy by representing on-the-ground realities and regional opportunities

Experience & Qualifications

Master’s degree in Business, Operations, Engineering, or related field

12–15+ years of multi-country management experience in mobility, fleet, logistics, hospitality, or retail environments

Demonstrated success owning large P&Ls in multi-site operations

Proven leadership managing leaders of leaders (GMs, area/regional managers)

Strong data-driven decision-making and operational modelling capability

Experience driving transformation and scaling operations in high-growth environments

Fluency in English and ideally another major language on the continent

Willingness to travel extensively across the continent
