District Cooling Engineer

Design and develop district cooling systems , including chilled water distribution networks and associated mechanical systems.

Perform detailed district cooling design calculations , including cooling demand, chilled water flow rates, pipe sizing, pressure drop, and system hydraulics.

Design and calculate chilled water networks , primary and secondary pumping systems, and associated equipment.

Develop and review mechanical layouts, schematics, and detailed design drawings .

Perform hydraulic calculations and select appropriate pumps, valves, heat exchangers, and other mechanical equipment.

Review and assess district cooling plant interfaces and connections to buildings.

Carry out cooling load calculations and determine system requirements based on project criteria and applicable standards.

Prepare and review technical specifications, design reports, calculations, equipment schedules, and BOQs .

Coordinate mechanical designs with architectural, structural, electrical, and infrastructure disciplines .

Review shop drawings and provide technical comments during the construction stage.

Coordinate with contractors, suppliers, clients, and authorities to resolve technical issues.

Ensure designs comply with relevant international standards, codes, and local authority requirements .

Conduct technical reviews of drawings, calculations, material submittals, and equipment selections.

Support project teams during construction and commissioning activities when required.

Participate in technical meetings and provide engineering solutions to project-related challenges.

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering .

Minimum 5 years of relevant mechanical engineering experience .

Proven experience in district cooling design and engineering is a must.

Strong experience in design calculations, hydraulic calculations, chilled water systems, and HVAC systems .

Experience with district cooling plants and chilled water distribution networks is highly preferred.

Good knowledge of pumps, heat exchangers, chillers, valves, piping systems, and associated mechanical equipment .

Experience with engineering design software such as AutoCAD, Revit MEP, HAP, or similar tools .

Strong understanding of applicable ASHRAE, CIBSE, NFPA, and relevant local standards/codes .

Experience working within engineering consultancy environments is preferred.

Strong technical coordination and problem-solving skills.

Ability to review and produce engineering calculations and technical documentation.

Good communication and interpersonal skills.

GCC project experience is highly preferred.
