To reinforce the Risk Management team, we are currently hiring an Insurance Manager who will oversee the insurance programme for development projects across Southern Europe (FRA, IT, SPA), ensuring appropriate risk transfer, regulatory compliance, and effective stakeholder coordination throughout the project lifecycle.

In this role you will report to the Lead Risk, Legal and Compliance.

More concretely, this means you will get the opportunity to:

Development Insurance Procurement

Assess, place, and manage insurance policies for Southern European development projects (FR, IT, ES), including CAR/EAR, liability, and local specialty covers (e.g. Assurance Dommages-Ouvrage, Seguro Decenal, Environmental).

Align insurance placements with regional risk appetite, financing requirements, and lender obligations, ensuring optimal limits, deductibles, and cost efficiency.

Lead sourcing processes, market engagement, and negotiations with broker and insurers across Southern Europe

Monitor market trends (capacity, pricing, exclusions) and proactively adapt coverage strategy to protect project viability.

Risk, Claims & Contractual Interface

Act as the insurance subject-matter expert for Southern Europe, supporting risk allocation in key project contracts (development agreements, leases, O&M).

Review and advise on contractual insurance provisions, ensuring consistency with the placed insurance programme and avoidance of coverage gaps or duplications.

Oversee development related claims management end-to-end (notification, adjustment, settlement), including coordination with insurers, brokers, loss adjusters, and internal stakeholders.

Support in risk identification and mitigation, in collaboration with EHSS, technical, and legal teams.

Compliance & Stakeholder Management

Ensure compliance with insurance requirements (statutory, lender, investor conditions) across all relevant jurisdictions in Southern Europe.

Maintain accurate records of policies, covers, and renewals; oversee project level reporting to management, investors, and lenders.

Manage relationships with brokers, insurers, advisors, and internal stakeholders (legal, finance, asset management, development teams).

Do you recognize yourself?

Master's degree in Insurance, Risk Management, Law, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.

7–10 years of relevant experience in construction and/or real estate insurance, either with a developer, insurer, broker, or consultancy.

Strong knowledge of construction insurance programs, including Construction / Erection All Risk,Decennial Liability, Inherent/Latent Defect, Environmental, and other project-related covers.

Experience managing insurance placements, renewals, claims, and broker/insurer relationships in an international environment.

Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to balance risk, coverage, and cost.

Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, including the ability to translate complex insurance concepts into practical guidance/training for non-insurance stakeholders.

Well-organized, proactive, and able to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.

Fluent in English and French, knowledge of Italian and/or Spanish is a strong asset.
