What You’ll Do:

To process, negotiate and follow up to achieve optimum and efficient claims settlements to the satisfaction of all clients. The core functions are:

  1. Negotiating claims settlements between Insurers, Adjusters and third parties.
  1. Taking Claims Reports and recording claims data.
  1. Negotiating claim settlements between insurers.
  1. Negotiating Liability Claims with Insurers and Adjusters.
  1. To maintain consistent communication with all clients throughout the claims process.

What You Bring:

BSc Degree from a tertiary level institution preferably in Management Studies would be an asset

Jamaica Insurance Diploma/Certified Insurance Technician or pursuing preferably; or Certificates in at least the Claims, Motor, Property and Liability classes of business as well as any from the following list of classes: Accident, Pecuniary, Marine Insurance 

Three years working experience in the Insurance Broking Sector or the Insurance sector with at least three years in a similar position.

Registered with the Financial Services Commission is an asset

Very good interpersonal skills

Attention to detail and accuracy in work

  1. Very good skills in negotiation
  1. Self-motivated and demonstrate personal responsibility and accountability

Technical Competencies

Working knowledge of insurance brokerage business

Working knowledge in at least three classes of insurance is essential.

Good knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel and PowerPoint

Functional knowledge of Broking software packages

Ability to use basic office systems

Compliance with organization and regulatory policies and procedures

Compliance with Anti-Money Laundering and Proceeds of Crime Act.
