About the Role

This role owns the hardware solution and detailed design for complete residential energy storage and power conversion systems, including critical topologies, component selection, system integration, reliability, and production readiness.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Clarify and review product requirements and translate functional, performance, cost, and certification constraints into system architecture, interface definitions, and verifiable design targets.
  2. Clarify product requirements, assess technical feasibility, and develop competitive system hardware solutions.
  3. Design and optimize hardware architectures for residential energy storage systems, PCS inverters, and energy storage power systems, including solution selection, schematics, and PCB design.
  4. Design and validate critical hardware circuits, including power topologies, and complete system-level hardware integration, debugging, and performance optimization.
  5. Lead key component selection, reliability validation, and cost optimization. Own hardware reliability, product safety, EMC, temperature-rise, and ingress-protection testing and corrective actions.
  6. Work with software, mechanical, and test teams on system integration, fault isolation, and issue closure, and continuously improve overall system efficiency and stability.
  7. Produce hardware design documents, test reports, bills of materials, and mass-production specifications, and establish standardized hardware development practices.
  8. Lead hardware solution, schematic, and PCB reviews, identify design risks, and track corrective actions to closure.
  9. Perform hardware DFMEA, derating design, tolerance analysis, and design-for-manufacturing assessments to meet reliability and production requirements.
  10. Work with suppliers and procurement teams on technical evaluation, sample validation, and alternate-part reviews for critical components to reduce supply risk.

Requirements

  1. Bachelor's degree or above in power electronics, electronic information engineering, electrical engineering, or a related discipline. At least 10 years of residential energy storage hardware development experience.
  2. Expertise in energy storage power topologies and in the hardware design of inverters and complete energy storage systems. Familiarity with signal integrity, power integrity, EMC, and product safety design.
  3. Proficiency with mainstream PCB design tools and the ability to independently complete system hardware solution design, debugging, troubleshooting, and production launch.
  4. Knowledge of hardware protection logic and overall system architecture for lithium-ion battery energy storage systems, with substantial experience in failure analysis and corrective action.
  5. Able to read technical materials, prepare technical documents, and participate in international research and development collaboration in English.
  6. Experience with hardware DFMEA, component derating, tolerance analysis, and reliability design.
  7. Ability to analyze oscilloscope, power analyzer, and other test-equipment data and use the results to drive design improvements.
