Summary: Under the general supervision of the Director of Legal Talent Management and an assigned mentor, and in accordance with established Firm policies and procedures, the Legal Talent Management Intern will support a variety of functional and administrative initiatives within the Legal Talent Management (LTM) team. This team oversees training, performance management, career development, integration, and engagement initiatives for the firm’s legal professionals, including attorneys, paralegals, and other legal staff.

The Intern will collaborate with team members on both short- and long-term projects aligned with their field of study and the department’s strategic priorities. Assignments will be based on business needs and learning opportunities, offering exposure to the operations of a professional services environment.

Internship Eligibility: The BT R.I.S.E. Internship Program is designed to introduce students in specified fields of study to the day-to-day operations of a law firm. Candidates’ skill, knowledge, aptitude, and education will be considered during the selection process.

To be eligible candidates must be:

  • Enrolled in either a 2 or 4 year degree program or be a recent college graduate at time of internship
  • Entering their sophomore, junior, or senior year in the Fall of 2027.
  • Be available to participate for 10 consecutive weeks beginning on June 1, 2027

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to meaningful work that advances Legal Talent Management initiatives.
  • Assist with the development of external website content and updating of internal intranet site.
  • Create department newsletters, PowerPoints, spreadsheets, internal marketing materials, and other Legal Talent Management deliverables.
  • Participate in team meetings and training programs; support post-program evaluation efforts.
  • Assist with preparations and logistics for the 2027 BTLaw Academy orientation program.
  • Conduct market research to identify industry trends, best practices, and market intelligence.
  • Research and document best practices across industries for mentoring, sponsorship, and integration programs; make recommendations for improvements within the B&T framework.
  • Support the planning and execution of attorney engagement or professional development programming, including coordinating logistics, preparing materials, and gathering participant feedback.
  • Assist with bar licensure tracking and continuing legal education (CLE) records, including gathering and organizing relevant information.
  • Maintain confidentiality in all client and Firm matters.
  • Collaborate with other departments and summer interns, where applicable.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited college/university program to receive college course credits.
  • Pursuing a degree in fields of study that aligns with the following departments: Human Resources, Marketing, Recruiting, Talent Management or a related field.
  • Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail when performing work functions.
  • Ability to proofread typed material for contextual, grammatical, typographical or spelling errors.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively in person, by email, by phone, and in virtual settings.
  • Ability to follow instructions effectively from a diverse group of clients, attorneys, and staff.
  • Provide timely and accurate information with ordinary courtesy and tact.
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment, including personal computer, copiers, phones, and scanning equipment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, in particular Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and independently.
