Join the Redwire Space team in developing and fielding end-to-end innovative mission critical space system solutions for next generation space architecture. At Redwire, you will work closely with customers from concept development through mission operations to ensure mission success.

Join our team of innovators and work alongside talented and curious people who are passionate about designing and delivering solutions that accelerate humanity’s expansion into space.

Redwire Poland is building capabilities in structural analysis, testing, and verification for advanced space systems. Our work spans deployable solar arrays for spacecraft, satellite structures including sandwich panel configurations, and docking and other space equipment for European and international programmes. With many exciting projects on the horizon, our team is eager for your passion, talent, and experience.

J ob description

As a Structural Engineer for Redwire Poland, you will join our international engineering organisation supporting advanced space systems programmes. This role focuses on loads and dynamics for advanced space systems, with an emphasis on finite element modelling, structural analysis, and environmental testing of flight hardware. The scope includes deployable solar arrays for spacecraft, satellite primary and secondary structures, including sandwich panel configurations, and docking and other space equipment. You will work closely with Redwire’s mechanical design, thermal, and systems engineering teams to ensure structural requirements are understood, traceable, and met in line with customer and programme needs, including ESA and ECSS-based projects. This position is based in Warsaw under a hybrid work model and offers the opportunity to collaborate with colleagues across Europe and the United States; occasional international travel is expected to support testing. You will gain exposure to the end ‑ to ‑ end development process for spaceflight hardware and have meaningful opportunities to grow your technical expertise as Redwire expands its capabilities in Poland.

Responsibilities

Develop system-level finite element models of spacecraft structures and equipment using commercial FEA tools such as Ansys or FEMAP / Nastran.

Perform detailed modelling and analysis of composite and metallic structures, including sandwich panel configurations.

Carry out structural static and dynamic analyses for satellites, deployable solar arrays, docking equipment, and related subsystems.

Support all phases of component and sub-component structural testing, including test planning, test procedures, on-site test execution, post-test data processing, and test reports.

Correlate analytical models with test results to validate structural performance.

Conduct stress analyses, including piece-part assessments and bolted joint evaluations, and document results in technical reports.

Review engineering designs and provide clear and actionable analysis feedback to the design engineering team.

Work closely with mechanical design, thermal, and systems engineering teams to ensure structural requirements are understood, traceable, and met.

Prepare and present technical reports, findings, and design review materials for internal and customer-facing reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR, QR, AR, etc.).

Independently develop practical solutions and analysis approaches with minimal oversight.

Travel occasionally to support environmental testing and related project activities, including international test campaigns.

Requirements

Must-have

Master's degree in mechanical engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or another relevant engineering discipline.

3+ years of relevant experience in structural analysis, structural design, or testing of engineered hardware.

Hands-on experience creating finite element models using commercial FEA tools such as Nastran, Ansys, Abaqus, or equivalent packages.

Strong understanding of structural dynamics and dynamic environments such as launch loads, vibration, and shock.

Practical experience with structural testing or strong readiness to support test campaigns in a hands-on role.

Proven ability to prepare and communicate technical reports in English.

Demonstrated practical engineering skills, sound judgement, and the ability to work under general direction to solve technical problems.

Strong communication skills – verbal and written – in English.

Experience in acous tic an alysis & testing

Experience in the space industry, especially analysing or testing space flight hardware.

Experience with dynamic testing, including random vibration and sine vibration testing.

Experience modelling solar arrays, satellite structures, docking systems, or other deployable space structures.

Experience in acoustic analysis & testing

Experience with thermal analysis or thermal tools such as Thermal Desktop, ESATAN, ESARAD, or Ansys.

Experience working to ESA, ECSS, or other high-reliability engineering standards.
