Overview
We are seeking a dedicated FLT/Warehouse Operative to join our team on the late shift. This role involves supporting warehouse operations through efficient materials handling, equipment management, and shipping & receiving activities. The successful candidate will have experience with warehouse management systems and mechanical tasks, ensuring smooth and safe warehouse functions during their shift.
Duties
- Operate counterbalance forklift trucks and other warehouse equipment safely and efficiently
- Load and unload goods from lorries, containers, and storage areas
- Manage materials handling using appropriate techniques and tools
- Assist with shipping and receiving processes, ensuring accurate documentation
- Conduct basic equipment repairs and maintenance as required
- Utilise warehouse management systems to track inventory movements
- Support stock organisation and storage optimisation within the warehouse
- Follow health and safety protocols at all times to maintain a secure working environment
Requirements
- Proven experience in a warehouse environment, including shipping & receiving tasks
- Valid counterbalance forklift licence or relevant certification
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS)
- Ability to handle heavy lifting safely and efficiently
- Basic maths skills for inventory counts and documentation accuracy
- Experience with materials handling equipment such as pallet trucks or trolleys
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work effectively during late shifts in a fast-paced environment
- Perform routine equipment inspections and minor repairs to maintain operational readiness
- Handle materials with care, ensuring proper storage and adherence to safety protocols
- Support stock replenishment, order picking, and packing processes to meet daily operational targets
- Assist in maintaining a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment
- Collaborate with team members to optimize workflow efficiency and resolve logistical issues promptly
Requirements
- Proven experience operating forklift trucks in a warehouse or logistics environment
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems and inventory control procedures
- Mechanical knowledge for equipment maintenance and minor repairs
- Ability to handle heavy lifting safely and efficiently during daily tasks
- Strong understanding of materials handling, shipping, and receiving procedures
- Basic math skills for inventory counts, measurements, and documentation accuracy
- Prior warehouse experience demonstrating reliability and attention to safety standards
